Nico has been in the tourism industry for 12 years and actively guiding for 10 years. His current qualifications include Professional Field Guide, Professional Track & Sign, Trailing Level 3, Tracker 3, Regional Birding and Trails guide, and FGASA Trails Guide Mentor. He is also currently earning his SKS qualifications such as birding and walking, as well as working as a trainer at Bushwise full time.

From a young age, Aneen visited the Kruger National Park which sparked her love of the bush. Her career journey started in the entertainment industry, eventually leading her to the African bush, where she shares her passion and knowledge with guests and students.

Bradley grew up exploring the outskirts of Bloemfontein, where his love for nature began. During a getaway to the Drakensberg, he discovered his calling to become a field guide. After completing a comprehensive course at Bushwise, he now thrives as a fully employed guide at a premier safari destination in the Eastern Cape.

Learn how you could become a qualified field guide with Bushwise at our free Virtual Open Day. Come with your questions – our experienced staff members will be available live to answer them!

 

On Wednesday, we’re opening our virtual doors to all future field guides and nature enthusiasts. Join us for a live discussion about our in-person and online field guide courses, and learn how you can make a change and start your career as a safari guide or conservationist regardless of where in the world you’re from!

 

During this interactive online event, you’ll hear more about our career courses, online courses, internships and our employment guarantee. We’ll also hear from a Bushwise alum about campus life and working in conservation. 

 

Bushwise now offers grants of up to R100,000 made available through the Bushwise Foundation to qualifying students. T&Cs apply (request more info here). Open Day attendees also qualify for 10% off all online courses.

If you’re interested in a career in conservation or safari guiding, or just an epic gap year in South Africa, this is your chance to answer your wild calling!

This event will take place as a live discussion over Zoom.* We’ll send you a link (via email and SMS) the day before the event. Our speakers will present and attendees can engage via the chatbox and ask the presenter questions in real-time. These questions will be answered live after the presentations.

*Please note that no Zoom account is needed. In the event that you would like to download Zoom, then the free version is perfectly suitable. Please note that the presenters and other attendees will not be able to see or hear you; and questions are taken via Zoom chat and Q&A.
